Hi Mary, now that you commented on the softness, I am not so sure anymore that I used the tripod... When I arrived at the fen, it was already getting darker; after trying a few hand held shots I decided that it was worthwile to get the tripod from my car. Because this was one of the first shots, it may be hand held. I like your idea of using grainy film! In fact I played around a lot with this image to get the crop I wanted, I also zoomed in further, whereby the 'impressionist' effect became quite apparent :) So, maybe I could play a little longer and post a grainy 'number VII'. Or go back to the fen with ISO 800 film... and start with the irises afterwards :)
You won't? Perhaps irises then - you could be the photographic equivalent of Monet1 ;)
Love the comp and colors. Can't decide if I want a sharp in-focus edge somewhere or not (on my monitor the whole image is quite soft).
I can't help thinking that this would be very interesting if shot with very, very grainy high-speed color film? Do you think it would like an impressionist shot then?
