Maybe someone should give the little guy sunglasses/shades! He's probably old enough to realize their value and keep them safe.
It would change his image a bit but maybe make him more comfortable. :)

Thanks for commenting on my "Young Worries" and for your suggestion.
The photo is a snapshot on a sunny day when the sunlight was pretty harsh.The little guy came to me and asked me if I would take his pic. He came too close and I had no time to think, I just took the shot. You should know that the boy always looks that way cause he can't stand day light.Those dark eyes are what attracted me in the first place. It was just what I wanted to capture and.... in the way they looked in real life. This 4y.o. little chap always walks around with a worried expression in his face, which I found and still find irresistible. I regularly see him cause he lives in my neighbourhood, but always outside.I've never noticed what the colour of his eyes is cause he keeps them almost closed. So, you're right, his eyes are hidden but not in a planned way. After the first negative comment (first comment on my very first pic. on UF!!!) I tried to correct it in PS, but I didn't like it. Without the dark shadows in his eyes, it just isn't the same little boy and he hsa quite a different expression from the real one, however strange it may sound. The way I see him in this photo is just the way I know him.

The reason it's harsh is that her eyes are in deep shadow; we can't see any details. The focus is mostly on the eyes and face but they are hidden and not in a planned way. A reflector card underneath would shine some light into them and make them easier to see. It would also soften the nose shadows a bit.

I like the tight crop on the face and he certainly does have a worried expression on his face beyond his years. I tried to vignette it and bring out his eyes and add a little more contrast to the furrowed brow, not sure if I like it or not though.
