Considering that this is not Replulse Bay... where there would be more ambient light... you have done very well
I am unsure whether the light and activity to the right is advantageous or not... maybe simply a lot of negative space...

Mid-autumn festival is the time of reunion for a family,for people couldn't be together, it's the day of missing.I feel lonely when I see this picture.The abandoned 2 lanterns,where are they going??

melikes very much, the glow and such work so well, but goodness thats alot of black space, im a fan of it but even i have my limits hehe (luckily photoshop allows us to deal with situations like this, wink wink:-)

You've got great light in the lanterns... they look amazing. But I agree that the people are almost too dark to get a sense of what they are.... I strain to see detail and can't. Really cool idea though! This was probably a one time shot, but if you ever re-create it maybe give the people double the amount of light than the lanterns.

I really like this concept and the contrast. I'd like to see how it would look either cropped to show just the two lanterns, or burned-in so that there is more detail of the people in the background.
