Northern Gannets on Bonaventure Island (Perce', Quebec). I captured this image when my wife and I went to Bonaventure island for hiking. My wife, who is a very patient lady and very supportive of my photography, waited for me for about two hours before I finished taking pictures. Among the images I captured on Reala and Velvia (Zenza Bronica ETRSi 645), this one is my favorite because of the way the birds are behaving. I reminds of a human couple kissing, and this is why I think this image may be a nice postcard for valentine's day.
Hi Shahryar. This is a great shot considering the difficult conditions you were working under. Such harsh lighting is often hard to work with, notwithstanding the movements of the boat. 8>
Nitpicks... a minor two. I wanted to see a little more highlight detail and some additional saturation. In no way does that detract from your excellent picture and I wish I had taken it. Nice work!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I did photograph them diving, but since I was using the converter (2X Pentax Converter), it became blurry. I used Provia 400 ISO for the diving image wit 80-320mm Pentax Zoom lens + 2XS Pentax Converter. However, I photographed grey seals several times, and one of them turned out right (Provia 400, 80-320mm Lens + Converter). I photographed the above mentioned animals while on a touring boat. This is why it was very difficult given the boat's motion.
Nice picture, and I agree the photoshopped version is a bit better. Those Gannets are amazing, i've been there too. There's thousands of them. Did you get any pictures of them bomb-diving into the water? Cheers,Marc
