Thanks for the comments and suggestions!
Toni, this was with the polariser turned to reduce the glare on the water to max. the reflection. Taken at 5:45pm, about half an hour before sunset, so the light would almost be the same as sunrise. But it will definitely be a place to watch next year for the colours!

Becky, your version is nice too, but I did like the muted browns in this... but hey, to each their own! *grin*

Having lived up north, I know what early snow will do to trees (with the whole skipping yellows, oranges and reds to usher in the browns). I went into PS and drained a little of the red and added a bit of yellow and green to make this scene a little brighter. I found this photo just a bit too magenta/brown, which is perfectly fine and autumnal, but I'm indulging my personal tastes here. :p Otherwise, I think it's great, and I like it much better than your previous photo of this scene. You should have a den. This would be a perfect picture for a den with wooden walls, leather furniture and a fireplace. :)

Another great shot Kim. Tomorrow i will submit an autumn shot that I took a few weeks ago, exactly one week before we got hit with snow.
This would be a great picture to hang in the library at home.

Pretty good, Kim. Did you have the polarizer tuned in to max the light on the trees? You might want to try something like this very early when the sun first hits it at the lowest angle.

Thanks for the comments so far! Vincent... the colours never really popped this year, as the snow came and froze everything. This is right after the melt. Oh yeah.. .you remember snow, right? *grin* AS for the dogs... they could care less what time of the year it is... they'll swim with the ice, if they can. (never said they were smart!) *grin*

Another ngood one. Your vertical shot is more artistic in my opinion. But, the dogs really add a nice element to this image. And, they are looking right at you! They don't even care if that water is cold...gotta love em. Are the colors past their peak, or just was not much pop this year? I have seen very few colorful Fall images this year. Nice shot Kim.

Kim,

Nice shot! I like your choice of filters here. Almost missed the dogs, they blend right in to the background.

Later my friend,

Russ
