About Taken in an abandoned/burned house. The chair really elicited a feeling of loneliness and curiosity from me. I originally shot a similar picture in color, and the 30 second exposure made the minimal amount of light shining through the windows take on a ghastly effect. I went and reshot in B&W. I used PS a bit to try and touch up, but it still doesn't have the same smooth/clean feel of the print.

love this too - powerful interpretation and great lighting - almost waiting for the third person - reminds me of a scene from a film - now i have to sit here and think which one - R

The light on the chair gives me a feeling of stark lonliness. I can't imagine this in color, BW is perfect for the subject IMO..I am so taken by the chair that the cut off window frame doesnt bother me.

Great image, capturing a sentimental sad feeling.
Again B&W suits the image

Excellent composition my friend. There's such an overwhelming feeling of awe, it makes the picture a treasure to look at. The range of blacks, grays, and whites is great; its just too bad the room was on the small side. I can't wait to see what the future brings..

Travis, I love the light you have captured. The chair makes the image.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I didn't expect so much, so quickly.

I agree with the comments regarding the windows being cut off. My only problem was being confined by the walls/corners of the room, making it hard to get a better shot. I might go back sometime soon and play around with some different compositions.

Thanks again.

oops...didn't finish....the only thing i wished for would be the window frames not cut off.

to me this is excellent...i took a shot this weekend and at antique shop with couch and similar window light...i hope it turns out half as good as this...great work and shows what determination and planning will reap.
