This is a very beatiful pic...I agree withthe other poster it has a lonely feel to it. It also has a distant mysterious type of feel to it. That is what makes great photography...photos that you can almost feel and are taken into.

hi Becky, i like a lot of things about your Arboreality...the composition is effective and together with the light, the snow and the toning create a nice winter night lonely mood. the quality of the uploaded image is not so good, but it doesn't really affect its impact,at least for me. ;-) regards, kostas

Hi Becky. This is a really great shot. I normally would not favour the subject being plonk in the middle, but the framing of the fence and building really work here. Love the toning, just right and of course I'm a sucker for B&W anyway ;-) (thanks for your last comment).

The toning worked a treat Becky. This actually looks middle of the nightish. Mary is right about the bits of high light among the branches though to be fair, one has to really focus to notice.
Good work, sleep easy - this time :)

Becky,
It turned out pretty well...I think I see some jpeg artifacts around the branches - that is the toughest thing...

It looks like you salvaged the shot well. Snow, water (like a pond or wet street) all add to the amout of light in the subject. I like to bracket my shots, opening the shutter using the B stop and taking a range of exposure lenghts from 1 to what ever lenght. Somewhere in there, there will be a great shot.
I like this photo in Sepia/BW as it adds to the chill of the snow. The composition is well done.
Excellent!

A clever title. But the image makes it on its own. I appreciate this, since we don't have snow and I am never awake at 1:00 am!
