I like something halfway between the tight crop and the posted image -- something that still preserves the 'looking over the tops of the trees' impression - or city springing from the forest (Hah!), but emphasizes the city rather than the trees.
And I don't care for the pink buildings in the left part of the frame - the interesting part of the city is to the right.
Probably should be taken again with a wide angle lens... maybe 17mm. Wonder who might have one?

I agree with Sergio.. If your going to crop into a pan it is much stronger without the trees.
