The New Jerswy Naval Museum in Hackensack. The S.S. was commissioned in 1943. A very interesting tour is given by volunteers retired sub-mariners and we were fortunate to have our very own Captain for a solid 2 hours showing us everything. It was most enjoyable and informative. SS Ling is retired of course but still very beautiful.
Yes, I did not have much choice. The plank was very narrow , and trying to fit the circle and the Serial Number int he same picture - as you rightly said - needed to tilt the camera and get myself into a twisterd position in the process for fear of falling in the merky waters.. I am glad you like the result though. Thanks.

Hi Christiane, this photo attracted my attention, because of the apparent tilt in it, as well as the dark tone / hard key of the photo. Very effective. Did you tilt the camera in order to capture both the number as well as the orange cover, or for another reason? I find it very intriguing and original. It works quite well, even though it's quite a stretch...;o) Good shot, and thanks for your description!
