About	This dike is 126 km long and is build by Moncks. The first dijk was ready in 1250 and is part of a whole complex of dikes in the province North Holland. This dike was not build to get more land but to keep the zee water out. In the past the people build dikes to save land and themselves and to win more land. Because of them the zee water is pulled back 15 to 20 km. And still it?s a enormous job to keep the water out (and necessary ?in?)
