Hi Gayle,

I've been working on shopping cart photos off and on over the past few months, but this one is really brilliant! Like you, I'm attracted by the normally-unnoticed pattern and color.

I very much like your original and all of the variations - this has proven to be a great thread. My favorite variation is Rebecca's. And while I usually like a tight crop like Paul's Archie Bell suggestion (now I've got that song in my head!), I prefer the versions *with* the wheels.

I hadn't thought about replacing the background with black the way you did - it makes for a much more dramatic image. I even like the scalloped pattern around the wheels - my first reaction was that someone carefully painted it onto the concrete :-)

Best regards,
SteveR

Very creative and interesting photo Gayle! Something that is so common and not very attractive makes for a very good photograph thanks to Your artistry! My best,JOHN

I love either shot! I like the shot without the wheels..but with the wheels, it becomes more abstract..you might even try some fun stuff.. like adding the look of motion.. like they're rolling..

Wheeeeeeeeeee

I love this! But I disagree about the wheels, I like them because they make me dizzy with the straight lines from the cart. I like photographs that make me feel something.

I think to avoid so much cleanup around the wheels, and also to make your whole shot about lines (and eliminating the circular wheels)...

It could go even tighter. Just a suggestion, since you asked. ;)

As Archie Bell would say, "Do the Tighten Up"
