The colours, tones and textures are wonderful in this image! Somehow I feel though, that the darker area on the top rigth is too heavy. I would prefer the darker are at the lower part of the image. I think the image would look more balanced then. But as we know, these are matters of taste.

This it's one intresting and beautiful shot. The colors are really appealing. The picture it's a bit abstract, in my opinion, it kinda reminds me of the beginning of a sunset with a cloudy sky, and in the upper right side of the photo, the part that it's kinda yellow, U can kinda see the silhoutte of a person or something like it...

Sensual colours...unique focus...I like so much the capture you selected...and the point to focus.. I think the lighting is very nice!!!I would prefer,however, the down part of the picture to be a little bit more clear or a part of this don't to be at all in the picture..But even like that,this is a very nice picture!!!Nice!!!!

thanks, John. Just so you know, all of my macro work is shot hand-held. I haven't even owned a tripod in years! Although, i'm not always shooting for sharp focus - but i've found it's there if & when i want it. That's such a huge change from shooting film. Also, i tend to shoot in bright daylight so even when i'm right inside a flower, there's still a lot of natural, available light. Have fun! I've found there's definitely worse places to be than deep within a beautiful bloom! :O)

I'm probably going to get a macro lens for my SD10 and start using it for macro work instead of my Canon G3.
The only problem I have with macro work is that you have to use a tripod and I hate them with a passion. I'd rather walk around an object with the camera in my hands and try to capture something than to have it attached to a pole.
Your macro work is great and I'm studying it to improve my own.

thanks, John. That was an amazing thing about the nikon 4500 with the wide-angle lens. I could literally get so close as to have parts of the flowers touching the lens & still shoot. I've really become used to those kinds of things that i can do with that camera & so i'm a little nervous about switching to the D70. But i'm hoping to get into printing & printing large so i really think i'm going to need the additional mb's. Guess i'll just have to wait & see...

Jennifer, this is so beautiful - like a woman, very sensual and very soft. Wonderful! You just keep getting better and better! Amazing potential! These type of macro shots usually bore me (oh boy! another flower macro! lol) but yours really raises the standard of macros and become something else entirely - a work of art! I have rarely seen flower studies evolk an emotional response from me the way yours does - thats why I compare them to the Georgia O'Keefe floral paintings - the only floral art that ever evolked any emotional response from me until yours. Keep it up and keep shooting.
