About
The Arbutus tree of coastal Canada is a fascinating plant, continuously shedding its red bark as it grows twisted on seashore slopes. It's a never-ending array of color that gilds its limbs. These trees are protected here. This shot is straight from the camera, except for minimal cropping. I have a million of 'em (OK, lots).
Thanx, Peter. I DO pride myself on looking rather closely at the things around me...there's a whole 'nother layer of life there if you look close, just like the peeling bark. I appreciate comments and criticism, especially from as successful a photographer as you.
Excellent capture, Buddy. You have a great eye for interesting texture/color combinations like this. I probably wouldn't have noticed this opportunity.
Thanx, Marcos, I really like my Arbutus series myself. I was looking in my Favorites just a minute ago and it seems I like to both take and see macros, I guess because they invite new views of the little things all around us that most folks don't notice. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my shot. Now I'm gonna go look at YOUR shots...
