I'd happily shoot Barbara all the time: she is very talented and creative and our visual styles seem toi mesh well with very little communication. I found this spot on the tracks in the midst of the containerized shipping at the Port of Oakland. Stangely, we had a good hour or so of shooting before security spotted us. I'd love to get back there again.
Artie: It was conciously included to add conflict. Beauty and industry. Purity and rust. That's why it is the same scale and placed similarly on the opposite side of the frame. It forces the viewer to choose and ask themselves, what's this woman doing here anyway? As far as I'm concerned, it's integral to the concept of my image. Atypical, perhaps, but I don't measure my images with that scale.
crop out the yellow truck on the right, it's fighting with your model...pose a little over the top but doable...location definitely cool sans the truck...
