Hello Ian - I hadn't noticed the number of views. You must be right but I cannot find it in the google image search (down to page 20) and it is a magnitude more than the next most viewed image in my portfolio... I think that the patches you see near the bottom are one of several kinds of interference patterns which this image is particularly rich in.

The burden of prophecy Stephan. I see you're nearly clocking up to 10,000 views but 13 comments. Lots of non-members googling for a picture? A useful symbol. The light patches at the base add a real feel, as if what ever it is can be blemished. Are they part of the disipation of the dye or the vessel this process is occuring in? A sort of extra refraction process?

Hi Stefan,
Another special "moment". I really don't understand how you can do this, either how can you do so many beautifull different photos. I agree with Hugo, to associate "tsunami" name to this photo, "makes" the photo!
Cheers

another piece in another yet favorite series... has an incredible sense of depth and dynamism... like a mindroad that one follows (or being taken away by its current force) and at the end you never where you might find yourself.... fantastic work as always... these abstracts are quite smt!!! congrats... emy

Hi Stefan,
What I like in this photo is ow the density of the refractuion creates a dimensional image and a feeling of induced perspective / distance. That works very well in this one, as it expresses dynamism and makes the image quite powerful.
On a subsidary level, I think the reference with the Tsunami phenonemon is a very nice touch.
Cheers,
Hugo

I like this one! Very dramatic. Looks also to me like shark's fin or also a rose thorn. All are a bit scary!
