Thanks Carlheinz - much appreciated. Cropping a little higher may be the right thing to do since I didn't get the hand in the negative (to avoid cropping at joints)?

WOW, what a honest and strong portrait. The light is great, the tones nice, wonderful expression and well balanced. I miss the right hand, but this is a masterpiece anyway. The expression is fantastic and IMHO the strongest I've seen from your girl so far.

excellent use of DOF and contrast in this one... the soft tones work really nice and enhance the unposed expression on her face and the overall innocence of the image... the off centered composition add more dynamique to it... and i agree with you about the slight upwards lift of the face... gives an extra flare of natural shining in the eyes.... wonderful work dear Stefan... really like it.... emy :)

I like this shot very much. Everything seems to come together: composition, lighting, DOF, but in a way that seems completely natural and not artificial. The best thing is the expression on the girls face!

Again a strong portrait! I appreciate your DOF! Calms the eye and prepares it for the girl's strong look. The wood and the detail with the hand touching it adds to the "grounding" mood!
A challenging portrait that i honestly like a lot!

Hi Svend - good observation on the uplifted face and camera angle. I like the light one can get on the eyes when the face is lifted just a little bit up to the sky.

Sweet portrait with an uplifting feel to it, which obviously has something to do with her slightly uplifted face and the slightly downwards camera angle. Like the grain and strong contrast. Very natural, very good. Rgds, Svend

You are right in that it is a personal preference. I tend to like contrast a little stronger than the average usefilmer I think, but for children I think too much contrast often adds a hardness that shouldn't be there.

Well that's the point where everyone starts making diffrent pictures :) Fun.
I can see what you mean, here left eye is already getting dark and by increasing contrast it would almost dissapear. Your right.

I like the grain in this picture. The composition is nice and stable, with that piece of wood in the picture. And here pose is very unusual looks like she's walking up to something. I like it!
Maybe a little harder contrast would do good, there isn't any real black or white in this picture. But that could be personal taste. :)

VERY NICE PORTAIT!
Verkligen fint med det korta skärpedjupet, kompositionen, tonomfånget, kornigheten och jag tycker speciellt myclet om hur hon håller handen på träet och hur det samtidigt stoppar upp vår (min) blick och låter den "gå om från vänster igen"....
