Thank you, Hugo, for yout thougtful comment. Absolutely right, a pity that the reflected boat is not complete (ok, next vacation in Garda...). I cropped the upper part of the "real" boat off, to an extent I deemed necessary. I thougt the red accent would give a nice counterpart for the otherwise quite uniform blue tones here (I pumped up saturation there a bit, I must admit....)

Hi Carsten, the deformation of the bow in the gently rippling water makes this shot; the reflection is clear enough to distinguish it's origin, and I think it doesn't really need the reference to the real bow. Still, the adjacent countershape of "the real thing" does add a contrast of shape, which is a very nice touch.

Wish you had included the tip of the bow in the reflection, though. That would balnce this photo completely.

Cheers,

Hugo

This sounds great! I use to tweak my shot in a RAW converter as well (color temp, level and curve) but never tried this technique.

Michele, you say it right. I converted one RAW shot three times, with different curves and level settings. That is usually better than tweaking TIF with PS and then composite of the results. Ciao !

results are really stunning: composition, color palette and crop, everything looks really great Carsten. But to be honest I haven't understand the way u got this. Do you mean this is just one RAW converted 3 times and then each file worked with PS alone and then again blended one after the other?
