About This is the same pic as Flash of Pink, except it has only been cleaned in Photoshop, no dodging and burning. The one I posted first had a bit of dodging and burning in it. Which do you like better and why? Any other improvements you can think of?

Thanks for the comments! My objective with this roll of film was to experiment with flash techniques and see the effect that aperature has on exposure. I do a large amount of photography at night and therefore don't have much for lighting. I ran across a studio liquidating a large amount of Minolta gear and latched onto as much as they would give me. This shot used two flashes set at 45 degrees to the flowers and pointed 45 degrees up. I cut the power to 1/4 if I remember correctly. I keep good records of these shots and record details for each. Something to lean on later. I'll be moving to the States soon and will be doing much more as I'll have better access to gear and locations. Thanks again for your comments!

I very much like this photo and disagree with the argument that the flower on the right is too bright. It almost seems as if you've achieved artificial sunlight. Beautifully done.

Stephen, I like this one better. I would like to offer some suggestions. The flower on the right is too bright and distracts from the rest. I would have shot this a little higher up focusing on the center flower. example:

Also try not to use a flash in a studio shot. I set up a goose neck clip on light with a Florescent screw in bulb (keeps light source cool)

I hope this helps.
Your friend Peter
