Excellent capture Donna - was this taken using the B&W setting on the camera or was it desaturated later ?
Either way it is superb :-)
Best wishes, Steve

Fantastic capture Donna, I love the sharpness and details of it, I think the one about to land is a picture by itself!

Hi Ethan - I was trying out my new canon 20d and had it set on automatic. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Donna; this is excellent-- I love it-- thanks so much for the dedication. The subject(s) is really nice in B&W, and that landing pelican is in the perfect position relative to Morro Rock (is that right?-- if I remember right, Morro Rock is sort of a local landmark?). Anyway, very nice and I'm sure you're enjoying your new Canon 20D. Although I'm a long time Olympusnik, I think the 20D has set the standard for this class of cameras-- enjoy, and Cheers. Craig

Brilliant capture, razor sharp and the B&W is very appropriate. Sal

I like how you freezed the action.
I know how hard it is to photograph birds in motion without blurring them a lot...what was your shutter speed? I'd have to guess 1/500s or faster.
