Thank you Thilo for your thoughts. The green and brown is close to my impression I had in that moment, and color temperature is matched for all three shots. One of the great advantages of CaptureOne is that you can define a certain color balance for a particular shot and transfer this color setting exactly to another shot. So, I matched color balance setting for all three shots, and matched histogram peaks with levels in Captute One, too. The color combination green, brown, blue is a matter of taste, of course ;-)
DOF looks a bit front-centered, but it is actually from 30 cm to infinity. Sharpening was gradually increased from far to near with a gradient layer mask technique, not to disturb the delicate tones in the clouds.

hey carsten,

your vertical panos are really something special. and the landscape in front of your house is special, too =)

while I love the overall look, I fear that the green/brown foreground don't harmonize too much with the sky here. maybe it's the high sharpness on the way that doesn't cooperate with the softness of the sky. what about the DOF in both pictures?

maybe I search for the "hair in the soup" =)

rest assure that I admire your PS skills and that the image WORKS very well. despite my nitpicking.

best wishes,

thilo

Such a superb sky Carsten and the path gives the shot added depth by almost leading into the horizon. Your countryside looks very beautiful.
Best Regards

Thanks for stopping by, Antonia. No, this is not my house, but not far away. My house is not as isolated as here - this meadow is visited regularly from a shepard with his flock of sheep (unfortunately, not this moment. Would have been nice, for sure)

I like the colour and the lights of this picture very much. As usual a good work. I improved to do something with the colors, but I still have some problems with lights and shadows

You managed to transfer the great atmosphere in this piece of landscape .. a lot going on in the sky .. the land is peaceful.. the little road goes on and on .. good use of the square format, and the size you posted is excellent to breath every detail in the landscape !! Love it.

You're definitely developing a nice style here, Carsten. The sky's great although the foreground's less effective than in some of your more recent and magnificent offerings.

Superb. It's storybook, Carsten. Wonderful terrain around your home, lucky dog. Is your home this isolated?

Another gorgeous landscape / skyscape with your amazing 'signature' range of tones! The grass is maybe just a hair *too* green to look completely natural with that sky, but then again it doesn't have to look natural at all when it's this beautiful!
The little house in the field adds just the right balance to the dirt road. Well done!
