Angelo: There is a wonderful dynamism about this one. The movement of the boat probably. Very nice.

Well, I haven't really got much choice.
1. I can't afford to buy one of these fast telephoto monsters
2. I can't afford to carry one of these huge telephoto monsters travelling with the wife and three children...
I'll just have to live with the results.
Thanks for hearing my rant.

hi angelo,
sorry for that. I know that situation very well, at least with some body - lens combinations. I don't know that lens, but 50-500, this seems to be a troublemaker per definition. I'm not sure how this focal range is reachable without compromises.

Thanks for the support, Thilo.
I'm kind of disappointed with some of these pictures now that I am processing them. I am blaming first and foremost:
1. Me 2. Performance of the lens (definition not good enough, colours a bit unfaithful) 3. Noise levels on the 10D
I see some of the other wildlife pics taken with 10D and 20D and am left wondering what I am doing wrong. The grass always seems greener on the other side!

hi angelo,
very good capture, like the room to the left where the bird points to. I also like the diogonal wood part. maybe you can clone out that part on the lower left.

You captured this beautifully, Angelo-- the profile of the heron is perfect and classic. I like the DOF very much.
Christine

Roberto,
Obrigado. Essa garça parece ser bem comum, habitando desde a América do Norte (Massachussets) até a América do Sul. Vive tanto em área com água salgada, como mangues, a áreas alagadas e com água fresca.
