About Sex and religion. Two things that either divide us or bring us together and often it's a little of both. This is a new theme I am planning to work with. It is a statement about the irony of how ultra conservative fundamental groups get so involved and righteous about other people's sexual orientation and activities when theirs are so repressed. Why is that? Why not avoid what makes you uncomfortable? I made these cast pieces in order to explore this theme and this is the first of many images using them.

Keep in mind, this is a scan of a paper negative. In order to get good tone throughout, some of it will have to get a little hot. it was hot under natural light, I have afeeling if I would have done it a notch lighter, there would have been a loss of detail. There isn't as much gray scale on paper as there is film. The camera works great, I can't wait to shoot some actual negatives with it.

I love the idea, but I do think the light in this shot here is a little hot. How's that Crown Graphic working? I almost got one of those recently but opted instead for a more standard 4x5 camera. Keep it up. Regards-j
