About Taken at the opening of a cave, after a rain. The sun was starting to come out, allowing the web to shine and in the background it was misting. I was amazed to get the details with an automatic focus. This was a fun shot. No adjustments made to image.

Hi Gina.

There are many ways to do this. My preferred method is to go into Quick Mask mode (Q) to select the corners using the gradient tool. Then create a new layer via copy (Ctrl+J) and change the blending mode to "Multiply" or "Colour Burn" and play with the opacity of the new layer.

Here's the result from working on the picture section of your uploaded JPEG.

Quickly burn the corners

Thank you Angelo for the comment. How would you darken the corners?

Good work capturing the light reflections from that web.

I think if the corners were darkened a little you would get a stronger impact.

Your presentation with the really thick black border is very stylish.

Thank you for your comment.

Thank you Carsten. It does look better after sharpening. Thanks for the hint. Please keep critiqueing my photos. I need the help. And I love how you edit your photos. Keep up the artistic eye.
Hope today you find the perfect shot, G

Very nice motif, and lighting as well as DOF are spot-on. I would sharpen after resizing for upload, because after the resize process the impression of sharpness is often impaired. Not a nit-pick, more a tech hint for sharing photos on UF.

Carsten

A very nice image with great presentation. I like the shine on the web, that bright green in foreground balanced at top right...
