About
This series was taken at the 15th annual Pow-Wow hosted at the Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures at Aurora (Illinois) University. Over 100 dancers from all over the midwest competed in various age groups and dance styles.
The sky were pretty grey on Sunday afternoon, but the brilliant colors of the dancers' outfits still came out well. Hope you enjoy the shots as much as we enjoyed the live performances. More information about the pow-wow at http://www.aurora.edu/museum/powwow.htm.
Picture details: Aperture: f13, shutter: 1/100s, focal length: 155mm, no flash, no tripod.
Thank you very much for you continued support and comments, Jose. I have three more to post throughout this weekend.
While we lived in Arizona, pow-wows were everywhere and Native American culture was part of everyday life. Here in the mid-west you have to search and look closely so it was a lot of fun to be at the Aurora festival.
It looks like you also like to post documentary series. I really like your entire portfolio, especially ?Kazakhstan? and ?Great People?.
