Elegant material in this composition, dear Susie! The contrast between the hues of grey and the brownish-yellow of the leaves is beautiful and breaks the monotony of greys. Next, shapes draw the eyes all over the shot, so that no details escapes inspection!A sober composition speaking of death, which is not necessarily ugly or scaring. Well done!

It seems most of us are in an autumn mood these days. Your shot has that certain meloncholy autumn mood that "forbodes winter" as you say.
Personally I love autumn because you can go for lots of long hikes in the woods without bugs and heat:)

It's beautiful susie, I liked the presentation here of autumn. Fallen leaves, wood and gravel; really sets the mood for the winter. I love winter, I am waiting to see some snow in Milwaukee. My wife hates it though :)

Oh Susie this is really lovely...I like the diagonal in your beautiful composition, the contrasting colors, and the simplicity, very nice work, the colors of the leaves and the rocks are beautiful...and I know what you mean. I always felt that way too, I grew up in Illinois and as a kid it was ok, but when I got older I could never tolerate the cold, I've never regretted moving to a warmer climate...beautiful work Susie..Linda
