About A re-shoot taken April 21/07.
This is an image taken at one of my favourite spots.
A farmer's vehicle graveyard. He has several wonderful old vehicles stashed on a private wooded lot. Most of the vehicles, like this one, have been here for over 35 years. This link will take you to one of my original shots from around 1970.
The title of this one is "Through Broken Glass Darkly"
(one of my first attempts at "serious" photography).

The inside and outside of this truck remain almost unchanged in the last 35 years.

Thanks very much for the comments David!
I'm glad you like this one because this old truck is one of my favourite subjects. I started taking shots of this old truck in 1970 :) This shot is more recent, of course.

I agree Annemette,
Many more vehicles in worse shape have been restored, or rebuilt. Who knows? One day, maybe?

Hi Kes,
I never really thought about any biblical reference. I just googled Through a glass darkly and it is quite amazing how many different variations there are on the title.

Hi again Roby,
Maybe it's because Italians feel the same way I do about ancient mechanical objects.

Hi Andrzej,
Thanks for the comment :) For the A/C, I think you just have to turn that handle on the middle of the dashboard :)
Many years ago it used to open a vent just outside the front windshield.

Andre, great nostalgic image with a flair. Great details. Interesting but I would be very challenged to find out how to turn A/C on in this model. Cheers, NJ

Thanks Roby,
It seems this one is a special posting for Italians only :) And it isn't even a Ferrari or an Alfa!

Hi Marco,
Thanks for the nice comment. I think you got it perfectly right. I agree, this kind of image can definitely fill the viewer with a kind of "peace" and nostalgia. There is a fine line between the mood of quite/peace and dark/moody. Some of my earlier shots from 1970 of this same truck have a much darker mood than this shot.
There are a few in my "cars and drivers" portfolio.

this is a great photo. it's curious the way it fills me with peace, though it is supposed to be quite a scary subject... anyway everything is nearly perfect in this shot. perspective, composition, light, tone... just a little thing... i'd have liked to see the front corner of the window too! 7/7 and straight in the favs!
