No masking... thus no masking lines... just lots of work with duplicate layers. :-)

Whoo hoo! Welcome to the wild world of IR! This is a great image... the textured patterns of the trees with the milky motion of the waterfalls is very cool!

I shoot all of my IR with my Sony 717, mainly because I don't need a slow exposure to get a sharp IR photo (due to the Nightshot mode). I like to get handheld/candid IR shots from multiple angles without lugging around a tripod -- especially when I'm traveling light. Now, there are times when I'd like to use a slow exposure on water features with IR, so it looks like I'll have to buy an IR filter for my D70 now!

And yes, IR is great when the light is harsh in the middle of the day... I also like evening shots too -- darkens up a clear blue sky even more for a more contrasty image.

I look forward to seeing more!

Hi Mark! I'm using a Hoya R72 filter on my Sony, so the infrared is through the eye of the camera. I do the monotoning in PS. Thanks for all of your comments!!

Creative approach! I never thought of putting small items in a vase and using it as a way to make the light interesting. Very nice effect!!

Really like this. Sepia really adds nice drama and contrast here. Have you thought of converting some of your Yellow Mountain shots to B/W or sepia (for the same reasons)?

Your portfolio has made me want to travel to China.

Very nice layers of tones and shapes! This looks very much like the Great Smoky mountains in North Carolina.
