About Testing my new 135-400 Sigma Apo lens. Dull and lifeless day. Had to set the iso to 800 and this is at full 400mm zoom set on a tripod. Used Mirror lockup for this capture.

All I can say besides this is a treasure to behold is that I hope this couple gets a blow-up of this one. T.

Thanks Cheryl. I did post a similar photo but with three dogs in the scene instead of the one photo :)

Hope all is well with you and your family :)

Love this shot Howie - I swear I posted a reply to it before but don't see it here. Is there another one like it that I commented on? Very nice capture of such a real event. Love the dog's absolute happiness too.

Thanks for the comment Chris. Mirror lock up is designed for this kind of photo. Basically, set the self timer (2second) press the shutter. What happens is the mirror flips up before the photograph is taken. Once the photograph is taken, the mirror then closes. Its a function thats used to eliminate camera shake on the telephoto side of things. Its my most used function on the 20D to be honest. That and the iso 3200 in very low light.

Thanks again

Howie

Looks like a great lens, great DOF, and Mirror lockup looks like it did its job no visible camera shake.

Another cracking shot, Howie, though I'm not sure I understand the "mirror lockup" bit!!
Best regards, Chris
