About
A 30 minute exposure started at 10:52 PM on Sept. 11, 2004. The bright star in the center is Altair. The three constellations featured in this photo are Aquila (Eagle), Delphinus (Dolphin), and Sagitta (Arrow). These constellations are visible in the summer and fall looking south (in mid-northern latitudes). They straddle the Milky Way near the Great Rift.
The camera was mouted piggyback on a telescope which was used to track the sky during the exposure.
Oh my God.. i'm speachless, awesome! also a perfect explanation of you for the constellation! is a old work ..that I wanted to make, but now without effort I watch yours! the beauty of the sky and the universe. best wishes roby
Thanks for your comment. If there was a Macintosh version of ImagesPlus, I might consider it...
This image wasn't easy to process. My first attempt came out an orange-brown?yeech. I threw that away and started over. One of the problems is that Provia doesn't capture reds as well as Ektachrome. So color balancing wasn't that easy. I also do not want to over-process my images. I think I would want to use a wider field if I wanted to emphasize the dark lane.
I had comented on your The Flame and Horsehead Nebulae image way back when...
Glad to find another amateur astronomer on the site! Nicely tracked and well captured. I might be tempted to use a stronger curve in PS or use Digital Development in ImagesPlus (great astro image editing software if you haven't tried it). I think you've got enough information in this image to bring out the dark lanes quite well.
