Very Nice...really like the colours and the lighting. The general composition and crop have worked well in this shot and the DoF really makes the little guy stand out.
Well done Susuie

Very nice capture of this moment Susie! Fishing definately can be tough with all the waiting around - especially for children. Very nice composition and a great overall shot.

ok, i think it is the effect of the lighting because my monitor seems to pick up when there is noise or that "chalky" look from lighting effects or changes....it is slight, so don't know if worth adding anymore contrast if your intent was to keep it soft...thanks for info as am diabetic and worry about my sight 24/7 ;>

Hi Gayle,
Thanks for the input. Maybe what you're seeing is I desaturated the entire photo to 75% and applied a soft focus. I have omni lighting at about 13% and I also applied soft edges to it. Maybe that's it? I'll take another look. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

yes it can be! my son hooked just below his brow once when learning how to cast at a river!...nice capture of a candid portrait,Susie...good choice to zoom in and the dof is very nice...i don't trust my eyes and monitor lately, but for what it is worth, i notice an overall dusky slightly overexposed look...do you see anything similar? i want to say "very slightly chalky"...maybe not as crisp as it could be would be a better description...still a very nice comp of a sweet child....regards,gayle
