Another excellent image, Naomi.

Great use of the available lighting. One can't help but feel forced to look at the balloon that is being filled.

Regards,
Bob

Excellent series, Mark!

The lighted house really makes the image. Great positioning and lighting.

I am planning on some night shots myself (if I ever get of the mandatory overtime at work ). I have some Fuji Provia 400 all ready for some moonlit scenes. Should be fun... assuming I don't run into any snakes.

Great capture, Mark!
Love the title of the foreground boat.
Funny, they look like some kind of an invasion force, just waiting for the right moment to launch the attack.

Hi Eb,
I never got around to commenting on these when you originally posted them.

I think this is a beautiful series. I was truly envious the first time I looked at them... I think it was the part about these beautiful creatures frequenting your backyard.

This is my favorite of the series - just love the incredible color and detail. Looks like you found a great camera/lens combo.

Best regards,
Bob

Thanks for the thoughts, Eb. The fisheye also sounds intriguing.

Hi Eb,
No doubt, I've been away myself for some time. I honestly have trouble finding the time to visit the various photo sites I am part of. I'm trying to drop in more frequently on UF and hopefully can maintain some form of consistency, but life being what it is, I can never be too sure.

Hope you enjoy your new D200 and all the excellent glass you've acquired. I've been contemplating the Nikkor 35mm f2. Do you have any prior experience with it?

Best regards,
Bob

It's got an interesting array of lines and textures that seem to make me want to search for images within. Nice job, Eb.

Bob PS - Hope your D200 is working out well for you.

Beautiful image, Mark. I like the repeating shapes and textures.
I kinda agree that maybe a different crop would strengthen it, but I'm not terribly sure about that.
One thing that I find fascinating is the appearance of much of the stone, it has an almost metallic quality about it. Very cool!

Best regards,
Bob

Douglas,
Aren't you going just a little over the top? Maybe you should give a little thought to your choice of words. I don't know if Pepto-Bismol works on keyboards, but if there was ever a time to try it... now is it.

Hi Eb,

First, I'd wanted to comment on your recent series of LF B/W scans you've been posting. Simply put, I love 'em. This is one of my favorites, though. There is such incredible movement caused by the clever use of lines in this image. Excellent composition and tonality, as well.

Secondly, I have not been participating on UF for some time. I do drop in a few times a week to check on images from Friends and Associates, but rarely do I comment.

I am in a sort of re-tooling mode with my photography. I recently picked up a used Graphflex Pacemaker and have been experimenting with some Polaroid B/W in an effort to become familiar with it's operations before moving into the sheet-film arena.
Eventually, I may again return to posting images here on UF, but for now that's still undecided.

Finally, I wanted to say 'thanks', for taking the time to critique many of my images recently. As usual, your comments help me to further understand what I've done correctly, as well as give me some thoughts for the next images.

Best regards and keep those 4x5 B/W scans coming... they are beautiful to look at.

Excellent composition, reflections and lighting!

I am taking a break from UF for a while, but wanted to first say thanks for the recent comments.

This is beautiful, Ina!
Before reading the 'About', I thought it was Monument Valley, Az. I hadn't previously heard of Flaming Gorge. It looks like an incredible location. Add one more to my list of sites to see...

Hi Ina,
The only kilns I'm aware of, other than Death Valley, are a little south of Lone Pine (10 miles or so?). We went last year and were pretty disappointed. There was barely a semblance of the kilns remaining, and what was there, was behind a fence.

Best regards,
Bob

Hi Susie,
A very interesting image, of a very beautiful blue eye. It looks like you ended up right in the center of her pupil - great positioning!

Wow, Ina! Way cool!!!
Thanks so much, I truly appreciate the thoughtful dedication.
I have to admit that I love this area. I hope to spend even more time exploring this year than we did last. So much to see...

As for the image... it is awesome. Love the tones and pano format. Definitely goes into my favorites!

Thanks again and best regards,
