Hi Marcus,
I never even thought about branches or weeds catching their beaks. You can see they have incredibley strong necks. I guess they expect to take a few spills now and then. Now I remember from one of your earlier posts... they skim for tiny organisms, not fish. That makes sense :)

Funny you should mention that Andre, These guys are much different then they look, there beaks are razor thin, they cannot eat fish only skim for tiny organisms, this guy just happened to get his bottom beak caught on some twigs a few frames after this shot and took a header, I have one shot where his head is pulled back against his chest before he tumbled....

That is one gorgeous shot Marcus. You know that you can have the best lenses and tripods money can buy but you have the non-monetary elements that make a shot great. A good eye, timing, and controlling your outcome can't be bought. I see a little damage to the wing, great detail in that huge wingspan.
