I shot this for my girlfriend, its her favourite plant in our garden (basically because it smells of chocolate!). I thought about using my puffer to brush away the specs of polen but I prefer it like this. The depth of focus has been purposefully restricted so that the petals in the foreground and the stamens are all that's sharp. The image is straight out of the camera with no manipulation. No sun and f9.5 meant a slightly longer exposure than I would have liked but there was no wind at all so everything remained nice and sharp.
YUM,YUM, I can smell it from here! This is one of my favourite plants as well.Very good handling of selective deoth of field, colour is interesting too with the reflecte blue edging the petals, lovely background,I personally would like to see it less centralized in the frame,IMHO.Iwould be happy to capture an image like this.Well done.Regards Micky.
